Abbeytown Friary, County Galway

I have no hammer, no chisel, no fine tools to carve your name. All I have is a stone, and it is enough. Enough for me to know that you have lived, and that I have loved you.

It is a humble sight walking the sheep strewn field to Abbeytown, and perhaps even more so once inside.  Besides the few Celtic crosses, the one large box tomb, lies row upon row of simple stones – markers without names.  A small sign lifted from nature, that those who once toiled her soil, lie now beneath it.
